At Natural Habitats, we’re committed to the production of organic, sustainable palm oil—an important, positive change within the palm oil industry. Although we champion this crucial movement, our efforts would be for naught without the valuable support of our partners.
With the help of the incredible companies we work with, Natural Habitats continues to gain strength in our movement towards fully traceable, environmentally friendly palm oil production. Of our many incredible partners, we’ve chosen five special ones to highlight today. Learn more about these remarkable brands below!
First on our list is Wholesome Bakery, a completely plant based bakery in San Francisco. This woman owned and run establishment commits itself to the use of only vegan, organic, and sustainable ingredients. Owner Mandy Harper operates Wholesome Bakery as a green business, and all of the delicious ingredients are “thoughtfully sourced and ethically produced.” The bakery uses organic, fair-trade chocolate, sustainable sweeteners, and of course, fully traceable and sustainable palm oil.
In addition, the only flours in this bakery are organic oat flour, organic white rice flour, organic brown rice flour, organic tapioca flour, and organic corn flour. These flours are great because they lack any additives, by-products, and filler ingredients that can be found in more commonly used types of flour. Plus, all of the yummy treats at this bakery are gluten and soy free, allowing customers with various diet restrictions to enjoy these confections.
Next is Oregon Soap Company, a wholesale handmade soap company that was founded in 1993. Oregon Soap Company is committed to the mission of “leaving the Earth cleaner than we found it.” For over 14 years of the company’s three-decade history, OSC has sponsored tree plantings with Friends of Trees and Trees for the Future.
The idea behind this incredible way to give back is that the trees offset the carbon emissions produced by the company’s daily business operations and the greenhouse gasses produced by the growing and transporting of its raw materials and final castile soap, brick soap, and foaming soap products. Over time, the company has sponsored the planting of over 774,000 trees—an incredible impact. Check out the remarkable mission shared by the company:
“We believe that each worker should be valued, that our work should support the life’s purpose of everyone involved in our business, and we’ve dedicated ourselves to leaving the Earth cleaner than we found it by fighting climate change with sustainable business practices.”
Discover Way Out Wax, a candle company based in Vermont that works to revolutionize the type of candles we use. At Way Out Wax, they believe an important idea: the cleaner the ingredients, the cleaner the burn. The company works to use only ingredients that would be okay to breathe in for its consumers.
This environmentally-driven company encourages consumers to make a #SimpleSwap to replace their synthetic products with natural ones to make a positive change. By swapping your synthetic candles for natural candles made with fragrances straight from essential oils, Way Out Wax believes in providing better alternatives to its customers.
